yeah, that is Andy...I recall my first Boston in 2007 as I was heading toward the starting line and I heard that all familiar voice. I turned to the runner next to me and said, hey, I think I know that guy-he's in my running club. It was good to know that a friend was there to start me at my first Boston.

I usually don't like winter races but this race was great. A post race party outside inside a heated tent was awesome. The beer was great too. I love Smuttynose. Plus there was chili. After a few beers I went in to the awards ceremony at the Asgard hoping to see who won the costume prize. The Asgard was full of great people and had a good time. I hope the Winter Classic 5k wasn't just a one time event-I will definitely look out for it next year.

No one was barefoot, as far as I could tell. I was wearing moccasins. Three runners were in Vibram Five-fingers.

(There was one fella running ALMOST bare--in a skimpy red Speedo. Pretty daring, on such a cold day. You can see him in photos during and after the race. But of course he had conventional running shoes on his feet. :)

Hi Ken,

Those are great photos and a great slideshow! I ran as the Angry Red Herring. I am definitely going to have to rethink my engineering for next years costume though as my mask bounced all around the place and I had to hold it down to run. But even with a slight wardrobe malfunction it was an awesome time.

There were so many great costumes and people like yourself, and it was so much fun to run in the street down Mass Ave. Usually I'm just being honked at on my bicycle. On a side note your feet must be tough as nails, which is the best superpower ever!

See you next year,
Peace Jg
